Okay, so I know I say this every month. But can you believe it’s October already?? Crazy! Dave and I had a great September. And a busy one! I started a new job, I had a birthday (so did my blog!), we visited family, spent time with friends, and more! October will be busy and wonderful as well. Most exciting, Dave and I are going to see Wicked this month! We’re also doing a joint visit with my mom and his parents. I love that the weather is getting coolor, so I know I’ll want to do some outdoor fall activities this month! Despite the busy month ahead, I’m hoping to make even more strides on this blog and Etsy shop of mine. I guess you could say I’m hoping to accomplish a lot this month. So it makes sense that I’m sharing my October goals today!
Let’s start with a recap of my September Goals:
-Clean out the guest room closet and hall linen closet. Sort of? I started the project and didn’t make it far. We’ll call this a loss.
-Design 5 new products for my Etsy Shop. I didn’t do 5, but I’m calling it a win anyways! I did manage to get three new products up that I’m really excited about! -Start a weekly RSS emails and monthly newsletters to my email subscribers. Yes, and I’m so excited! I’ve started sending out a weekly email with my posts for the week. And I sent my first monthly newsletter out just a few days ago with popular posts, new Etsy products, and discount codes for sponsors! So excited! -Make 3 new recipes. I don’t think so, but I haven’t been keeping track. I’ve been in a recipe rut, so I’m trying to find some new ones to try! Leave any recommendations in the comments!
-Surpass 12,000 pageviews on the blog. I’m so excited about this! I completely blew my traffic goal out of the water!
-Create some Christmas products to add to the Etsy shop. It seem so early and silly to be talking about Christmas right now, but it’s coming up quick! If I create some products this month, then I can have them up by November. Which is not that early at all! I’m definitely planning to do some Christmas cards, but we’ll see what else I can come up with too!
-Create new opt-in options for my email list, and possibly create a password protected page of printables that people would have access to when they sign up for the list. I’d love some feedback on this, so feel free to leave your thoughts below in the comments!
-Return to meal planning. I used to love picking out recipes and creating a meal plan each week. I’ve really fallen away from that, and I’d like to get back into the habit.
-Create a financial plan. Dave and I are very serious about buying a house by spring, so I’d really love for us to set some specific financial goals and figure out what we’ll need to do before we’re ready to purchase. If you’ve got any tips for first time home-buyers, I’d love for you to leave them in the comments!
I’m going to leave it at four goals this month, two blogging and two personal. We’ve got a big month ahead of us and these are some lofty goals, so I don’t want to overload myself! Let’s be honest though, I’m constantly creating new goals as the month goes on!
